Papers, 1862-1895.

The collection contains Kelly's autobiographical account of his Civil War experiences based on letters he wrote during the war. He describes the 70th Indiana Infantry's involvement in battles in detail, including Resaca, Cassville, Marietta, Peach Tree Creek, and the Siege of Atlanta. He also comments on slavery and the southern lifestyle. A printed pictorial service record broadside (1895) is also included.
